About meI'm originally from San Diego, California. I attended UCLA for my undergraduate degree and I completed both of my master’s degrees from UNT in 2008 and 2015. My husband Simon and I moved to Texas in 2005 where I taught in the Dallas and Austin areas. Then in 2014 we made the big move to Denver, where we have absolutely fallen in love with the weather, the people, and the outdoor lifestyle. We figured if we couldn’t have the ocean in our backyard we’d love to have adventures in the Rockies. We have two boys, Ryker who is in Kinder this year and Palmer who is going on 3 and spends his days at home with my husband. We also have a big “cow dog” named Zaphod; he’s a 110 pound snuggle monster.
I have had the privilege of teaching grades K-6 for the last 11 years and at campuses with IB and international programming. I am so excited to be joining the amazing community at DCIS Fairmont this year. I love teaching and I love learning. I hope to pass on the passion for learning to my students. My all-time goal for my students is to learn to love reading. I want them to realize that reading is not just something we do because we're at school, work...but we love to read because of the feelings we feel, the images we see and the laughter we attain because of the characters we read about. I hope you see how infectious reading becomes! As a learner, you will soar to great distances and I hope you are amazed with the growth in all other areas as a result. I am really looking forward to a wonderful year and getting to know each of you. |
